It must be something about me. After years of my friends telling me that Bill Gates was evil incarnate, and how I really ought to join the alternative Apple franchise, I took the plunge and bought a Macbook.
Since then the world has changed.
Apple are being now being denounced by The Independent as the nipples of Beelzebub and Bill Gates has become a modern day Saint Theresa (except better of course).
Are there any other brands I should avoid damaging?

Funny that they’re moaning about quality – I once had to go through 4 PC motherboards – and travel halfway across Sydney each time – to find one which worked. I could bore the arse of you listing DOA PC kit I’ve had to deal with at home and at work. As for the ‘counter-culture’ aspect – what a load of wank. Both macs in this house stay up for weeks at a time, no messing around with dlls and other M$ related junk, no massive security holes, and there’s a terminal app for when I’m feeling geeky.
Coincidentally, two members of my family have been trekking far and wide this week to take their beloved Mac laptops to the “nearest” Apple Store (in one case, 70 miles into central London) for emergency surgery. One has a dead hard disk, one crashes after half an hour of WiFi use. Strangely, my PC laptop suffers from neither complaint.
Discuss.
I would suggest that all 3 situations are atypical. Other, of course, than the difficulty in finding an Apple Store.
And Bill Gates is still Shaitain incarnate.
I think it’s highly entertaibing that the Bill Gates Foundation website is hosted on a Linux server!
