Live strong, unless you have an arrest
In the UK there was a recent attempt to use blue rubber wrist bands to combat bullying in school, which backfired.
The Lance Armstrong yellow “Live Strong” rubber wrist band is selling at a rate of 120,000 a day, and it has become increasingly common over this side of the pond (and not just with cyclists). However it appears that there is an unintended consequence of this popularity.
Several area hospitals are putting the brakes on Lance Armstrong’s cancer organization fundraising bracelets. It’s not cold-hearted backlash, but rather a safety precaution.
Patients wear colored bracelets to identify safety needs, said Lisa Johnson, vice president of patient services for Morton Plant Mease Health Care. Yellow stands for “do not resuscitate.”
The rubber bands appear to be spreading into the rest of the rainbow.
