COX-2 inhibitors update
The West Midlands Centre for Adverse Drug Reaction Reporting has numerous links to advice about COX-2 inhibitors. There are links to the European Medicines Evaluation Agency’s site, the FDA, the MHRA and to Pfizer’s press releases on celecoxib. Health Canada are also warning about the use of celecoxib in Familial Adenomatous Polyposis. There is also a link to the New England Journal of Medicine’s early release letter on the cardiovascular safety of valdecoxib, a drug also noted to have a propensity for skin reactions, including Steven-Johnson Syndrome, and toxic epidermal necrolysis.
